What is GMU?

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Established in 1996 in Lausanne, the “Groupe Musulman Universitaire” or GMU – aka MSA (Muslim Student association) continues to gather Muslim university members during their studies on the campus of EPFL and UNIL.
GMU is an independent group, officially recognized by UNIL, and is under the Chaplaincy (l’Aumônerie) responsibility in EPFL.

Our main goals are:

• To gather Muslims inside the campus

• Promote exchange, mutual aid and brotherhood

• To facilitate the practice of spirituality along the academic life.
